Looking forward to a beautiful Fall
Summer has come and gone and I didn't get to see much of it. After a wonderful trip to Chicago, with a visit to Karyn's fantastic Raw Foods restaurant www.karynraw.com and a train trip to Glacier National Park, on to Portland, Oregon and down the coast to Los Angeles, CA, with a visit to Rawvolution www.rawvolution.com and Real Food Daily www.realfood.com we arrived home at the beginning of July.
I taught a great class entitled "Whole Food, Whole Kids"at the St. Christopher Episcopal Church Day Camp and had 52 children ages 5-12 in attendance. We examined all sorts of fruits and vegetables and made 2 recipes, "Fruit Kebabs" and "Carrot Fries".
The second week of July brought beautiful weather to Charleston and time to work in my garden. I love spending time in the garden. Unfortunately, the mosquito population in Charleston upon testing at the area pools showed that 90% of the mosquitos were carriers of West Nile Virus and one of them found me in my garden. The rest of the Summer flew by without my participation. I cannot remember ever experiencing such exhaustion. Thank heavens, my immune system is strong and was able to get me back into healthy shape in about 6 weeks time. I feel like I am among the living again and ready to find people to teach once again!
I am making plans for classes in October and November. Watch for postings here in the next week.
